Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Hard Hat Yarns ("we", "us"), operator of hardhatyarns.com.au and the Hard Hat Yarns publishing tool (the "App"), handles information. Hard Hat Yarns is operated by Angelo Laurence, Perth, Western Australia. The App is an internal tool used only to publish and measure videos on our own Hard Hat Yarns YouTube channel. It is not offered to the public.
1. Information the App Accesses
When the channel owner authorises the App with Google OAuth, it requests only these scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload: to upload and schedule videos on our channel.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/yt-analytics.readonly: to read aggregate performance reports (views, watch time, retention, subscribers) for our channel.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube(only if playlist management is enabled): to manage videos and playlists on our channel.
The App does not access Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data, and does not access other users' YouTube accounts.
2. How We Use It
Solely to upload, schedule and organise our own videos and to review our channel's aggregate analytics. YouTube Analytics data is aggregate and does not identify individual viewers.
3. Storage, Retention and Security
OAuth tokens are stored encrypted on a private server we control and are never shared. Analytics reports are kept for up to 24 months for performance review and then deleted. Access is limited to the channel owner and the tools they operate.
4. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share Google user data with third parties. We don't use it for advertising and don't transfer it except as required by law.
5. Google API Services
The App's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The App uses YouTube API Services; see the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Revoking Access
Access can be revoked at any time at Google account permissions. On revocation or request, we delete stored tokens and related data within 30 days.
7. Website Visitors
This website uses no cookies or tracking scripts. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views anonymously without cookies or personal identifiers. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to run and secure the service; we don't use them to identify visitors. We collect no other personal information unless you contact us.
7a. Contact Form and Email
If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, topic and message. We use them only to read and reply to your message. The form is delivered to our mailbox by our email provider, Resend, and the message is kept in that mailbox. We don't add you to any mailing list, and we never share or sell your details. If you email us directly, we use your email only to reply. You can ask us to delete your message at any time.

We aim to handle any personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
